Education

There are 14,943 education schools in the United States. These schools offer certificates in education and degrees at both the undergraduate and the graduate level. An education program prepares students for careers as educators. Many students will study subjects such as English, psychology, and curriculum development.

Overview

Currently, there are 14,943 US institutions offering education. 7,521 institutions offer degrees at the bachelor's level in education and 7,077 institutions offer graduate level education degrees.

Generally, a degree in education at the bachelor's level requires 4 to 5 years of coursework and may be a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, a Bachelor of Education degree, or a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree depending on the institution. While 8% of students seek degrees at the doctoral level, nearly all of the undergraduate level education students pursue degrees at the masters level. Students can pursue graduate level education degrees such as Master of Aeronautical Science degrees, Master of Science in Nursing degrees, and Master of Textiles degrees.
