Editor Sweeps

by Batboy

Senior editors will soon be sweeping Open-Site for possible fair use and copyright violations. The intent of this sweep is to check the integrity of the data at open site. As you know, Open-Site has strict standards for the inclusion of data. Any data found to be in violation of Open-Site's fair use or copyright policy will be deleted or moved to unreviewed.

To protect yourself from having your data removed, please check your work using Google to see if anyone else is claiming copyright to the work you have. You can use the Cat Googling feature located in this newsletter to assist you in the determination of copyright violations. Also you should be aware of the 'Fair Use' policy at Open-Site. You can find more information on 'Fair Use' in this newsletter.

If your data is removed or placed in unreviewed, you will find a note in the 'Charter Section' of the main edit page of the category. You will also receive an e-mail from the editor who removed the data. Please do not take this data out of unreviewed or place the same data back in until you have discussed it with a cateditall, an editall, a meta, or root. If your data is removed you will have the opportunity to explain why the data should be allowed to stay. If you fail to respond to the editor, the information maybe removed permanently.

Please be advise that it is not the intention of the sweep to cause anyone undue hardships. Our purpose of this sweep is to keep the integrity of Open-Site at its highest level.

Before the sweeps begin, please check your site and remove any possible copyright violations.
