Flat Serve

A swing that causes the ball to travel at high velocity with little or no spin on the ball.

Follow Through

The portion of the swing that occurs after contact with the ball.

Forecourt

The area of the tennis court that is located between the service line and the net.

Forehand

The swing of the racket that is accomplished by bring the arm backwards instead of across the body. For right-handers, the motion is started backwards on the right side of the body. For left-handers, the motion is started backwards on the left side of the body.

Foot Fault

An error by the server that is accomplished by stepping on the centermark, sideline, or baseline. It is also a foot fault if the server does not serve the ball from a stationary position.

Face

The portion of the racket that makes contact with the ball. Also another term for the strings of the racket.
