The IIHF Rules

Developed from the original seven rules of organized hockey set out by several McGill University students in 1877, the IIHF governs all matters concerning hockey worldwide. The IIHF rulebook is the standard across all leagues, both professional and amateur. Individual leagues may further create rules to modify gameplay, but they cannot reverse or supercede rulings of the IIHF.
