The King Clancy Memorial Trophy

The King Clancy Memorial Trophy is awarded each season, since the 1987-88 season, by the National Hockey League to the player who exhibits leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made noteworthy contributions to his community. The winner is determined by a select panel of members of the Professional Hockey Writer's Association and the NHL Broadcasters' Association. The trophy has been won by 19 different players over the 19 seasons it has been awarded. The King Clancy Memorial Trophy is named after NHL Hall of Fame legend Francis M. "King" Clancy, former player, coach, referee and team executive.
