The Jack Adams Award

The Jack Adams Award is presented by the National Hockey League each year to the coach who has contributed the most to his team's success throughout the season. This award is judged by the NHL Broadcasters Association. The trophy has been presented since the 1973-74 season. Pat Burns is the only coach to win the award three times amazingly doing so with three different teams. The Jack Adams Award is named after the NHL Hall of Famer Jack Adams who played for the Toronto Arenas, Toronto St. Pats, Vancouver Millionaires and Ottawa Senators. He was also the coach and general manager for the Detroit Red Wings, serving a remarkable 20 seasons as coach and 36 seasons as general manager.
