World Cup Cricket

This tournament is the world-championship of one-day cricket and it is held quadrennially. The first World Cup was held in 1975 in England.
The nations that play in the World Cup are:
All 10 test nations - Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies, Zimbabwe
All other countries with ODI (one-day international) status - currently Kenya
Qualifiers from the ICC Trophy, the 'World Cup for minor countries' - The 3 qualifiers for 2003 are: Netherlands, Namibia and Canada.

10 World Cups have been held till now. Australia leads the tally having won 3 times followed by West Indies which won the first two.
In 2003 World Cup which was held in South Africa, Australia emerged winners with India as the Runners-up.
In 2011 Cricket World Cup India emerged winners with Sri-Lanka as the Runners-up.
