The Kama Sutra contains 35 chapters, organized into seven parts.
Introduction (4 chapters) - On love and cultivation of man and woman, relationships, the classification of men and women.
Man is divided into three classes, the hare man, the bull man, and the horse man, according to the size of his lingam. Woman also, according to the depth of her yoni, is either a female deer, a mare, or a female elephant. (Kama Sutra, Burton, 1883)
Art of Sexuality (10 chapters) - On the art of embracing, kissing, scratching, biting, sighs, blows, foreplay, post coition, lovers quarrels, sex positions.
It is said by some that there is no fixed time or order between the embrace, the kiss, and the pressing or scratching with the nails or fingers, but that all these things should be done generally before sexual union takes place, while striking and making the various sounds generally takes place at the time of the union. Vatsyayana, however, thinks that anything may take place at any time, for love does not care for time or order. (Kama Sutra, Burton, 1883)
On Marriage (5 chapters)
When a girl of the same caste, and a virgin, is married in accordance with the precepts of Holy Writ, the results of such a union are the acquisition of Dharma and Artha, offspring, affinity, increase of friends, and untarnished love. (Kama Sutra, Burton, 1883)
On being a Wife (2 chapters) - proper conduct of a wife.
She should be born of a highly respectable family, possessed of wealth, well connected, and with many relations and friends. She should also be beautiful, of a good disposition, with lucky marks on her body, and with good hair, nails, teeth, ears, eyes and breasts, neither more nor less than they ought to be, and no one of them entirely wanting, and not troubled with a sickly body. The man should, of course, also possess these qualities himself. (Kama Sutra, Burton, 1883)
The Wives of Other People (6 chapters) - On seduction.
By being united with this woman, I shall kill her husband, and so obtain his vast riches which I covet. Or thus: The husband of this woman has violated the chastity of my wives, I shall therefore return that injury by seducing his wives. ... (Kama Sutra, Burton, 1883)
About Courtesans (6 chapters).
On the Means of Attracting Others to Oneself (2 chapters).
A man who is versed in these sixty four arts, who is loquacious and acquainted with the arts of gallantry, gains very soon the hearts of women, even though he is only acquainted with them for a short time.(Kama Sutra, Burton, 1883)
