Evil is an action against God’s laws. It intentionally sets out to hurt, destroy or corrupt those who it is aimed at. The objective of evil is to spoil what is good and does not necessarily create gain for the perpetrator.
To accept evil as an entity, means goodness must exist. If a definition of evil were left to mankind then the border between evil and goodness would change depending upon those in power at the time. This would have the consequence that neither could be defined or have any real substance. This therefore means taking the step that some greater power defines a border between the two.
Sin is any activity which produces evil.
