General Information

In the Holy Gospel according to Saint Matthew the Apostle chapter 10, verses 2 - 4, he gives the number and names of the Apostles: “The names of the twelve Apostles are these: first, Simon called Peter, and his brother Andrew; James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew, Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James, the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddeus; Simon the Cananean, and Judas Iscariot who betrayed Him.”

Miracles of the Apostles

Jesus sent off the twelve to do some apostolic work, as can be read in the Holy Gospel according to Saint Mark, chapter 6, verse 7 and upon their return, they confessed to Jesus that they had performed all kinds of miracles in His name. These same events are also spoken of in the Holy Gospel according to Saint Luke.
