General

Pentecostalism is a form of Christianity characterized by a belief in the "gifts of the Holy Spirit" - prophecy, speaking in tongues, visions, healing, miracles, etc. as being active among Christians today. Pentecostals believe in a phenomenon known as the "baptism of the Holy Spirit," at the point of salvation or afterwards. At this "baptism", an individual receives the ability to speak in tongues as well as any other spiritual gifts that they have.
