The Sacraments are visible signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed. They are outward signs of inward grace. The sacraments are the principal ways that we can obtain the supernatural life, without which no one can be saved. There are seven Sacraments instituted by Jesus Christ and administered by the Catholic Church.
