U. S. District Court for the District of Columbia [Supreme Court of the District of Columbia]
Nominated by Ulysses Grant on April 22, 1870, to a seat vacated by George P. Fisher; Confirmed by the Senate on May 10, 1870, and received commission on May 13, 1870. Service terminated on July 2, 1879, due to death.
