When most of us think of Ancient civilizations, Greece and Rome come to mind. You might even think of Egypt. These three empires were the dominating powers in the world in their respective time periods. The Greeks and Romans were very technologically advanced, utilizing aqueducts and bridges to their advantage. The Romans even had a primitive steam engine. In addition, the literature, mythology, and science was the best there was until after the Middle Ages. Although the classical civilizations are interesting, they dominate history as if that's all there was. It might have been said that Greece and Rome are all there is, but it's only the tip of the ice berg.
