The Invasion of Manchuria - Origins of World War II

World War II was supposed to have started in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland, but some consider the start to be at 1931, when Japan invaded Manchuria and declared it a state under the Japanese Empire. A puppet was put in place as the leader of the new Japanese-ruled area. The direct result of this was the oil embargo on Japan, the raid on Pearl Harbor, and the entry of the United States into World War 2.
