Description

Geothermal energy relates to the heat contained within the earth beneath our feet. This energy can be from two sources; heat produced by the core of the earth, and heat absorbed from the sun by the ground beneath our feet. The term "geothermal" comes from the greek words geo (meaning earth) and therme (meaning heat), so its translation is "earth heat".
