NAME: Dmitri Yurievich Kondratyev (Lieutenant Colonel, Russian Air Force)
Test-cosmonaut candidate of Yu.A. Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center
PERSONAL DATA: Born August 9, 1969, in Irkutsk. His parents, Yuri Semyonovich Kondratyev and Valentina Dmitrievna, reside in Alma-Aty, Kazakhstan. Dmitri is single. His hobbies include computers, sport games, aerobatics, and hunting.
EDUCATION: Kondratyev completed Yak-52 flight training at the Alma-Aty Aviation Club in 1986. After graduation from Alma-Aty High School in 1986, he entered the Kachin Air Force Pilot School from which he graduated in 1990 as pilot-engineer. Now he is studying at the Moscow State University for Economy, Statistics and Computer Science at the Economic Information Systems Department (5th year).
EXPERIENCE: After graduation from the pilot school he served as a pilot and a senior pilot in the Air Force. He flew 6 different types of aircraft: Yak-52, L-29, L-39, MiG-21, MiG-29 and Su-27. Kondratyev has logged over 600 hours of flight time. He is a Class 1 Air Force pilot.
He was selected as a test-cosmonaut candidate of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Cosmonaut Office in December of 1997. Kondratyev has finished basic space training.
Currently, Kondratyev is assigned to the ISS 5 backup crew as a flight engineer.
