Overview

The Seabird Coast is a scenic coastline in the Firth of Thames. The Pacific Coast Highway, an unofficial highway, follows the coast.

The northern part of the coast, part of the Franklin district, offers award-winning takeaways and pottery in Kaiaua and various walks at the inland Regional Park, where the Hunua Ranges are located.

Further south in the Waikato district of Coromandel, the town of Miranda is popular for local hot pools and amazing views out upon the Firth of Thames, with the Coromandel Range acting as a stunning backdrop.
