Stratford is the largest centre in the lower half of Taranaki and is situated near the intersection of State Highways 3 and 43. Patea River passes through the town, which boasts a variety of parks, gardens, restaurants and visitor tours. Mount Taranaki offers an amazing and dramatic back-drop on most clear days.
