Mokau is located on the amazing scenic coastal stretch of State Highway 3. Much of this stretch has amazing scenes of the Tasman Sea to the west and extensive farms to the east.
The village offers estaury cruises on the historically notable cream boat, as well as trout-fishing and white baiting. There is also a variety of walks and sea-based activities, although access is limited.
