Whangape Harbour is situated north of the Panguru Range in the Far North of New Zealand. Near the harbour entrance is Otio Rock. Within the harbour is the settlements of Pawarenga and Rotokakahi.
Awaroa River leads from the section of the Northland Forest Park, through Awaroa to the harbour. From the Maungataniwha Range, through Broadwood and Pukemiro, Rotokakahi River leads into the harbour.
