Overview

The Purerua Peninsula is the northern border of the large Bay of Islands.

On the north face of the peninsula is the Black Rocks (also known as the Barrel Rocks), Lion Rock and Rocky Point. The western side has Kowhatuhuri Point, Cape Wiwiki and Harakeke Island. On the southern face, within the Te Panu Inlet on the peninsula's south-western face is the beaches of Te Tii and Purerua.
