Ngataki is a locality on Far North Road (State Highway 1) leading from Kaitaia to Cape Reinga. The surrounding area has a large variety of lakes and streams. To the north-east is Great Exhibition Bay and Rarawa Bay. To the south-west is the long Ninety Mile Beach coastline.
