Omapere is a beach situated at the entrance of Hokianga Harbour. It has good opportunities for swimming, although there are also walks and fishing spots. Of note is the sand dunes nearby. A road leads out towards South Head and the far end of the bay. There is also a local museum and various old churches in the area.
