Overview

Richmond is a forestry town near Nelson. As well as forestry in the Waimea Plains, the area has several vineyards and craftspeople that work in a variety of mediums. Rabbit Island Beach is located at the end of Redwood Road, a right-hand turnoff travelling from Richmond on State Highway 60. To Richmond's south-east is the Bryant Range within the Mt Richmond Forest Park.
