Description

Marton is a small farming town near Bulls in the Rangitikei district in Manawatu. The town is named after the birthplace of explorer Captain Cook, who was the first European to land in New Zealand in 1769. The town's economy is based largely around the farming and the railway lines that meet at a junction in the town.

Visitor attractions including Marton Park, a local museum, tours of historic homesteads and the St. Stephen's Church. The Amazing Maze in Maize has attracted significant media attention for it's originality and is a popular seasonald attraction in the area.
