Captain James Cook

In 1770 an English Lieutenant James Cook sailed up the east coast of Queensland exploring many areas that still hold the names he gave at the time.
These include the Glass House Mountains, Magnetic Island, Cape Tribulation, and Possession Island where he claimed the east coast of Australia for Britain.
