Queensland lies in the Eastern Standard Time zone for Australia (which has three zones including central and western.)

The standard time for the eastern zone is based on the mean solar times of the 150 degree east meridian giving Queensland time 10 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time. The came into effect through the Standard Time Act 1894.
