Overview

Canada is one of the oldest and most developed countries in terms of UV monitoring. Two separate networks of UV instruments exist in Canada: one is owned and operated by Meteorological Service of Canada (MSC) and one is operated by The Weather Network, a private national weather station. The chief scientists involved in UV monitoring at MSC are Jim Kerr, David Wardle, Angus Fergusson and Tom McElroy.
