County Galway is on the west coast of Ireland, half way up the western seaboard and with the Atlantic Ocean to the left.
Its main city is Galway City.
The western part of Galway is a 'An Ghaeltacht' area, meaning the first language is Irish. This area which is generally seperated from the rest of the County by the river Corrib, is generally known as Connemara.
Galway is a coastal county with four out-lying islands. The Aran Islands is the collective name for Inis Moir, Inis Meain, and Inis Oirr. The other Island is Inishbofin.
