Rímur

Is another form of traditional Icelandic poetry but has a simpler and shorter structure and metre than Kvæði and is based around rhyme (hence the name, Rímur = rhymed poetry), a typical a ríma is 4 lines. This means that this form is very popular amonst the general public and is in general regarded for "daily use", hence the subject matter of a ríma can be a bit more "plebian" than that of a typical kvæði.
