Demographics

Apart from Asia, Europe is the world’s most densely populated continent. The cold mountainous North is very low-density, while there is heavy density in western countries such as Monaco, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and in major capital cities.

Europeans have a high life expectancy and the lowest growth rate of any continent. Western countries are mostly based in cities, while eastern countries have higher rural populations, but an increasing number of people across the entire country are moving out of the cities to lower-density suburban and rural areas.
