Egypt goes back far more than the great pyramids of Gizeh or the step pyramid in Sakkara. Indeed the origins of the Egyptian culture lie back some 10.000 years B.C.
In this category you shall find more information about the history of the people than about the history of the kings and temples of Egypt.
The reason for this choice is simply that you can find numerous information about these in the internet and your schoolbook. Of course you shall find the basic information here also, but the aim is to raise an understanding for the culture. And culture is always designed by the people and rarely by the kings.
In spite of this decision this category is divided into the classical historical pattern in order to assimilate to already known information:
- Prehistory
- Early Dynastic Period
- Old Kingdom
- First Intermediate Period
- Middle Kingdom
- Second Intermediate Period
- New Kingdom
- Third Intermediate Period
- Late Kingdom
- Greek Period
- Roman Period
- Islamic Period
- French Period
- British Period
