[ history ]

Description

Brackish water is water that is saltier than fresh water, but not as much as open sea. Most brackish water environments have fluctuating levels of salinity (salt concentration). Species of fish that have developed from these types of areas handle salinity fluctuations very easily and some even benefit from changing levels of salt from time to time.
