The United States Federal Government suggests hunters should bring along a trash bag so that they can deposit it in the proper trash receptacle and avoid littering.
It is strongly suggested that hunters should be using the correct type of hunting equipment permitted in the area and that they check with their destination ahead of time for current hunting rules and regulations for that area.
Several safety precautions and other actions can be taken by hunters, including:
- wearing proper hunting gear, including orange vests and caps to avoid being mistaken for wildlife by another hunter.
- completing hunter safety courses and being aware of local and state hunting laws.
- transporting hunting weapons with the safety on.
- being courteous to other hunters and recreationists.
- not hunting on unauthorized public lands.
- bringing along extra safety items such as water, flashlights, maps, and a cellphone or radios.
