Description

A sailplane is an unmotorized aircraft that obtains lift from thermals and ridge lift rather than an engine. The wings of sailplanes are often narrow and long to obtain a longer glider distance. Wing spans vary from 50 feet (15 meters) to 65 feet (20 meters).
