The Cessna Corporation was formed on September 7, 1927 and is based in Wichita, Kansa USA. Cessna employes over 9,700 employees worldwide and operates three manufactering plants located in Wichita, Kansas - Independence, Kansas - and Columbus, Georgia.

There has been over 184,000 aircraft produced by Cessna since their first aircraft was designed and built in 1911 by Claude Cessna. More than half of all recreational aircraft flying today were manufactered by the Cessna Corporation which makes them the largest manufacturer of recreational aircraft in the world.
