American Samoa is part of the United States of America that is in the Pacific Ocean. The first people to live at Samoa was at about 1000 B.C. and the first European people to live there arrived in the 18th century. In 1899 the Germans and the Americans signed an agreement that gave them both different parts of Samoa.
