Multiplying

When you times or multiply something in math you repeat one number a certain number of times.

When you have three apples and you times them by five, you put five groups of three apples together.

000 000 000 000 000
Five groups of three apples.

If you times something by 1 you do nothing to it.

1 x 1 = 1
2 x 1 = 2
3 x 1 = 3
4 x 1 = 4
5 x 1 = 5
6 x 1 = 6
7 x 1 = 7

10 x 1 = 10
11 x 1 = 11
12 x 1 = 12

When you multiply or times a number by three (3) you triple the number or create it three times over.
