Debating

A debate is when two or more people or groups of people discuss something. Debates usually happen when people have different opinions on something and it is so everyone can get to say what they think.

When you have a debate at school or in a competition you have to try and persuade an audience of people watching that they should have one opinion on something while the opposition tries to tell the audience to have the opposite opinion.
