Learning

Edward Thorndike was a professor that studied about how humans and animals learnt. He said that the brain could do four things to learn. Firstly, it could make multiple choice decisions like on Who Wants to be a Millionaire, and these included pronunciation. The second was attitudes and feelings we have about learning and thinking, like waiting longingly for the end of class. The third was called analytic learning, and was when we noticed certain facts or figures instead of others. The fourth was seeing things that were similar to other things.

Motivations-Tools.com says that we have a learning personality that can change how clever we are and what we are good at. People who are clever are those that are suited to their surroundings. The four different types of personality are artistic, which are people that are good at art and music, academic, which are the people who get top marks in class, and technical and sporting people that are really good at sports and technology.

Dreams

Sigmund Freud said in his 'psychoanalytical theory' that dreams have an indirect meaning. He said dreams begin as latent dreams that are what the dream actually meant, are filtered or changed, and we are left with the manifest dreams. I suppose it's a bit like how the violent bits of Dragonball Z were removed before it was aired to TV. He thought dreams were related to desires, or things we really wanted.

However a friend of Freud, Carl Jung, thought that dreams were messages from ourselves to ourselves and we should look at them as important advice to help us with our daily lives. It's a bit like a free counselling service that is available whenever we're asleep and isn't funded by our school.

Actions

Actions can use expressive or coping behaviours. Expressive behaviours are involved in things like handwriting, pottery and painting. We all do these things differently. Coping behaviour is used in activities we all do the same way, like typing.

There are many interesting actions that can show how you feel or think. If you keep your limbs close to yourself you are probably feeling anxious. If you are having trouble making normal body gestures then you are probably lying. Smiles are almost always used to greet, be friendly, or even flirt with someone! People can be described as assertive if they put their hands on their hips, while if they put their hands on their backs they probably lack assertiveness.
