Biographies

Stories about people’s lives are called biographies. Most biographies are about famous people that people are really interested in. These people are called celebrities.

Some stories are written by people about their own lives. These are called autobiographies. Others are written by authors about people they know a lot about.

Death

Death is the end of a life when all the body stops working, including the heart and the head. People usually die when they become old but they can also die if they get very sick or are murdered.

An obituary is a notice or report saying someone has died. It usually has a quick summary of the person's life and the relatives of the person that are still alive. Many newspapers publish obituaries in the Family Notices classified section.

People

People are human beings. There are lots of different types of people in the world, with different ideas, values, beliefs, languages and cultural traditions.

There are lots of words to describe people. For example, an idiot is a very stupid person or a person who does a strangely stupid thing, but it probably isn't very nice to call someone an idiot.
