Genealogy

Genealogy is the history of you family or of another person’s family.

You can draw a diagram called a family tree with yourself and your brothers and sisters at the bottom and branches or lines going up with other relatives as the leaves. Each layer is a different generation.

You, your brothers and your sisters are a generation in your family. Your mum and dad are both part of generations in their families. A generation is also a period of time.
