Cleaning

Cleaning the house is a long task. It involves brooms, vacum cleaners and cleaning products like soaps.

A broom is a brush with a long stick that you use for sweeping up messes on the ground. The long stick is called a broomstick and in many stories there are witches who fly on broomsticks.

A vacum cleaner is an electrical appliance that uses a suction to such up dust, dirt and other things on the ground. It is usually used on a carpet surface.

Laundries

A laundry is a place where your clothes are washed. People used to wash their clothes by hand, but now there are washing machines that can wash them quicker and with less work. A laundrette is a shop where people who don't have a laundry pay to use washing machines and driers.

A washing machine is an electrical machine that washes and rinses your clothes. In some washing machines you put clothes in from the side, while in some washing machines you put clothes in from the top.
