Movies are just made up. If you watch Spiderman jumping from building to building or Superman flying through the sky, you are actually seeing an actor who is in front of a green or blue screen. The screen is then replaced with a background so that it looks like the actor is jumping or flying through the sky.
Some movies are based on real-life stories, though even those movies are usually not totally true.

A movie, or a film as some grown-ups call it, is a moving picture. This is a scene or group of scenes one after the other of people doing things that are recorded using a video camera. The first movies were black and white and didn't have any sound, but today most movies are in color and have sound as well.

Video cameras, also called camcorders, are cool things that can record a moving picture of someone doing something or of something moving and put it on a special video tape so you can watch in on television or in the movie theater if it’s a movie.
Many video cameras also have a microphone so they can also record sounds.
