任天堂社のゲームソフトの名前。ポケモンと略される。 現在でも続編が出ている。 ストーリはプレイヤーがポケモントレーナになり、ポケモンリーグを勝ち進むことと、ポケモン図鑑を完成させることである。プレイヤー同士でケーブルをつなぎ、対戦したり、ポケモンを交換するシステムは当時としては斬新であり、広く受け入れられた。
