Landschaft

Die Inseln liegen im Karolinenarchipel im westlichen Pazifik. Sandstrände, Korallenriffe und tropische Vegetation mit Kokospalmen kennzeichnen die Landschaft. Die weit verstreuten Inseln sind entweder vulkanischen Ursprungs oder Koralleninseln und Atolle. Vulkane gibt es auf Pohnpei, Kosrae und Chuuk.
