Landschaft

Das Atoll ist vulkanischen Ursprungs und besteht aus den roten Koralleninseln Wake Island, Peale Island und Wilkes Island. Das Atoll bildet den Kraterrand des erloschenen Unterwasservulkans und ist von Korallenriffen umgeben. Die Vegetation besteht vorwiegend aus Gräser und Büschen.
