Die Insel ist vulkanischen Ursprung und besitzt sieben aktive Vulkane, sie ist sehr gebirgig und hat nur eine kleines Küstentiefland. Die Insel hat noch keinen Flugplatz und ist derzeit nur mit einem Hubschrauber erreichbar.
