Instructions

  • Eggs are rather delicate unless hardboiled. They should be placed in cold water for 7 to 8 minutes before peeling, though most people in a hurry hold them under a running cold tap.

  • Using the back of a spoon gently crack all of the shell until quite soft.

  • Peel off a strip of shell around the middle and you should be able to more easily pull the shell off both ends.


  • Keeping the Whites White Once Peeled.
  • Place peeled eggs in clean, cold water till needed. (Remember to use boiled water if tap supply is unsafe.) You can leave them there for several hours with no adverse effects.

  • Halved eggs with the yolk (yellow) removed can also be stored in cold water to stop them going dark and tough.
